Open Question: Where should I live? Santa Monica, California or Boulder, Colorado?

I am a college student but I am attending a junior college and might continue to do so for two more years. Money is not an issue. I have lived in CA all my life and really enjoy it here but there are many things I find appealing in CO, one of them being just wanting to start fresh. I love the outdoors and athletics, that is why it is either Boulder or Santa Monica plus other reasons. I am not sure which I would prefer, the coast or mountain/forest. Both are very nice though. I enjoy people with a liberal mindset and I registered myself "Independent" as my political party. Which junior/community colleges are best in Colorado? The one I am looking at now is Front Range Community College. I am not sure where I would like to transfer (to a 4 - year) I might just come back or stay in CA for that. Trust me I am well aware of the world's situation, especially the USA. Why it is happening and who contributes to it.
